Graduate Workshop on European Studies

The Center for European Studies announces an interdisciplinary not-for-credit workshop for advanced graduate students working on issues relevant to Europe and the European Union.

ELIGIBILITY:
This workshop is open to advanced graduate students with interests in European studies. Graduate students from across disciplines are invited to apply.

PURPOSE:
The workshop offers students the opportunity to benefit from their peers’ feedback in the development of dissertation chapters, articles for publication, and proposals for funding, in an interdisciplinary setting. An additional goal of the workshop is to provide a forum for past recipients of the Jean Monnet Fellowship for Research on European Integration to interact with students who are applying for the Fellowship or intend to do so in the future. Therefore, current Jean Monnet Fellowship applicants are particularly encouraged to apply for participation in the workshop.

ORGANIZATION:
The workshop will be aimed at providing an interdisciplinary forum for graduate students working on European topics. It will convene during the Winter 2012 semester for two-hour sessions, which will be organized around discussion of student work. Speakers from the “Conversations on Europe” lecture series may be invited to visit the workshop as well.  The workshop will be supervised by Karla Mallette, CES director and Associate Professor of Italian and Near Eastern Studies.

 APPLICATION:
Applications must include:
1.  A letter of interest  with the topic of the paper you would like to present;
2. Curriculum Vitae.
