GIEU Symposium - 9/27; 4-6pm

Are you interested in an inexpensive, short-term experience abroad (or off-campus in the U.S.) as part of a diverse group of UM students, led by a U-M faculty member?

Participants in the spring/summer 2011 GIEU programs will be giving presentations about their experiences at the GIEU Symposium.

The “field sites” for 2012 will be announced in mid October; application deadline will be Nov. 7.  Undergraduates from all U-M Schools & Colleges are eligible.

In 2011, the Center for Global and Intercultural Study sponsored 14 Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates (GIEU)  projects in Chile, China (Energy), China (Transportation),  Detroit, El Salvador, Gabon, Greece,  Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Spain, and Virgin Islands.  
Interested in learning more about GIEU and how you can support our efforts?
Attend the GIEU Symposium where students will showcase capstone projects developed from their summer field site experiences. Enjoy presentations from around the world!  Symposium is open to the public. Admission is FREE.


GIEU has been promoting diversity and global exchange at the University of Michigan and around the world since 2002 by providing global education opportunities that expand learning beyond traditional classroom boundaries.  Undergraduates and faculty learn in rich cultural environments while gaining a greater understanding of global situations and processes
