Job Outline & APPLICATION INFORMATION
 
 *Kindergarten Immersion Teacher (4 and 5 year old classrooms)
 The Immersion Program is open to four and five year old Japanese children who are working towards becoming bi-lingual. Outside of a 40-minute long Japanese class, the classroom of 16 children are immersed in English; learning through songs, chants, short poems, memory work, games, stories and some phonics and writing. Due to the classroom being entirely in English, the English teacher needs to be very sensitive to the needs of their students and also quite creative in communicating with them.
 Qualifications:
  •  Native English speaker with a degree in Elementary Education and/or Early Childhood Education (E.C.E.) from an accredited college or university
  •  Experience working with children in either a formal or informal setting.
  • Honest, hardworking, flexible and dedicated individual who has a warm and energetic personality.
  • Salary Information: Annual base salary starts at ¥3,240,000
  • Monthly Break-down: ¥220,000 + ¥50,000 (housing subsidy) = ¥270,000 per month
 
*Immersion Friends Club Teacher (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade classrooms)
 Immersion Friends Club is an after school English program for elementary school students who are graduates of our Immersion Kindergarten Program. The children attend class four to six days a week in order to continue their English education. At Immersion Friends Club, the children study in an all English environment not only in the classroom but also during playtime, pony riding, Bible stories, parties, field trips, camps and many other activities.
 Qualifications:
  •  Native English speaker with at least a degree in Elementary or Secondary Education from an accredited college or university
  • Experience working with children in either a formal or informal setting.
  • Honest, hardworking, flexible and dedicated individual who has a warm and energetic personality.
  • Salary Information: Annual base salary starts at ¥2,880,000  
  • Monthly Break-down: ¥190,000 + ¥50,000 (housing subsidy) = ¥240,000 per month
 
*Friends Club Teacher (1st through 6th grade students)
 Friends Club is an after school English program for elementary school students who are graduates of our kindergarten. The children attend classes three times a week to continue their English education. At Friends Club, not only do the children study English but there is also playtime, pony riding, Bible stories, parties, field trips, camps and many other activities.
Qualifications:
 
  • Native English speaker with at least a two year degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience working with children in either a formal or informal setting.
  • Honest, hardworking, flexible and dedicated individual who has a warm and energetic personality.
  • Salary Information: Annual base salary starts at ¥2,760,000
  • Monthly Break-down: ¥180,000 + ¥50,000 (housing subsidy) = ¥230,000 per month
 
*September to March Substitute Option 
 
This position is a 40 hour work week that gets you invaluable experience working, sooner rather than later. with our students and curriculum. This six month contract would roll into one of our yearlong contracts as either an Immersion Kindergarten or Immersion F.C. teacher with the start of the new school year on April 1st.
  •  Salary Information: ¥150,000/Month (including the ¥50,000 housing subsidy)
  • Qualifications: Same as those listed above with either the Immersion Kindergarten or Immersion F.C. positions.
