Friday, September 6 - Global Education Fair // Fall 2013 For-Credit Study/Work Abroad Returnee Course

This event is sponsored by the Center for Global & Intercultural Study (CGIS), though representatives from education abroad offices across campus will also be in attendance.

Note that the application deadline for many CGIS Winter 2014 programs is coming up very soon -- September 15th.

Have you recently returned from a study, volunteer, or internship abroad experience?

LSA is offering a mini-course that will help you to leverage the knowledge and experiences you gained abroad.  UC 287 is a 1 credit interactive course and it meets on Thursdays from 5-7 PM for 7 sessions.  The course starts this Thursday, September 5, 2013.  If you want a course that is going to help you to translate your study abroad experiences into your future endeavors you should strongly consider registering.  Please contact the instructor Timothy Corvidae (corvidae@umich.edu) to register now!  Details about the course are included below:

Course Description:  

This interdisciplinary course explores the processes and opportunities in intercultural learning for students returning from field-based experiential projects.  This course allows students to reflect on their global experiences and engage in a deeper understanding of culture, identity and consciousness.  Students will process lessons learned and analyze their personal development from before, during and after their programs.  Developing and articulating skills learned abroad will allow students to utilize individual transformation for their personal and academic interests.
