More About Peace Corps

Make a difference in the lives of others and your own. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, you will help a community in need, gain valuable cross-cultural skills, and become a citizen of the world. Other benefits Include:
- Full health & dental coverage in service
- Paid living expenses & $7,425 upon service completion
- Deferment/partial cancellation for some student loans
- Graduate school programs with financial assistance
- Job placement support and Federal employment advantage
- International, leadership and field experience for the job market

Your service begins with three months of comprehensive training and is sustained with the support of in-country Peace Corps staff, including safety and security and medical officers. Host families and local counterparts help you acclimate to your community and program.
More than 8,000 Volunteers of all backgrounds and ages are serving in a variety of fields in more than 75 countries. Peace Corps Volunteers must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years of age, but there is no upper age limit.
