Politecnico di Milano now offers over 30 master’s programs taught completely in English in disciplines related to engineering, design, urban planning, computer science, and architecture. Qualified international candidates can also complete their doctoral degree with no knowledge of Italian.

We are pleased to offer merit-based scholarships for excellent candidates who come from outside of Italy. All three scholarship types include a full tuition waiver. “Platinum” scholarships include an additional 10,000 euro award (current value of $13,500 USD) and “Gold” scholarships include a 5,000 euro award ($6,800 USD), to go toward accommodations in the student residence and other expenses. Apply by Jan 18th: Study Abroad Scholarship (Fund for Education Abroad)

Studying abroad during Spring/Summer 2013, Fall 2013, or Winter 2014?

Apply for a scholarship of up to $5,000 through the Fund for Education Abroad. 

Scholarships are available for students studying abroad in Summer 2013, Fall 2013, and Spring 2014.  The application can be accessed via the Fund for Education Abroad website.

Scholarships are offered up to $5,000 per semester and are not limited to specific programs, destinations, or fields of study.  FEA awards funds to students planning to study abroad on academically rigorous programs with a preference for underrepresented students.

Students must have all materials - application form, financial aid form, unofficial or official transcript, and 1 recommendation - submitted by that date.  Application materials submitted after January 18 will not be accepted.

Scholarship for Summer Language Study: U.S. Dept. of State Critical Languages Scholarship

The U. S. Department of State is pleased to announce the scholarship
competition for the 2013 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program
in thirteen critical need foreign languages. The CLS Program provides
fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction and structured
cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks for U.S.
citizen undergraduate and graduate students.

Languages offered: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi,
Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Turkish, and
Urdu.

The application is available online at http://www.clscholarship.org.
Applications will be due November 15, 2012. Prior to preparing their
application, interested students should review the full eligibility
and application information on the CLS Program website:
www.clscholarship.org/applicants. Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Russian,
and Japanese institutes have language prerequisites, which can also be
found at the link above.

Students from all academic disciplines, including business,
engineering, law, medicine, sciences, and humanities are encouraged to
apply. While there is no service requirement attached to CLS Program
awards, participants are expected to continue their language study
beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language
skills in their professional careers.

Boren Awards provide a unique funding opportunity for U.S. students to study world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East). The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded. 

Boren Scholarship (For Undergraduates) - 1:30 PM

The Boren Scholarship provides opportunities for undergraduate students to study in countries that are generally underrepresented in study abroad. Boren Scholars are awarded up to $20,000 for an academic year.

Boren Fellowship (For Graduate Students) - 3:00 PM

The Boren Fellowship allows graduate students to add an important international and language component to their graduate studies. Boren Fellows can be awarded up to $30,000.

CREES Research, Internship, and Fellowship (CRIF) Program Grants

The Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREES) seeks applications from students in REES and

REES-focused undergraduate and graduate degree programs at the University of Michigan for grants ranging from $500 to $1500 towards summer or semester-long research projects or internships at institutions in Eastern Europe or the former Soviet Union.

CES-Summer Research and Internship Grants

The Center for European Studies (CES) seeks applications from University of Michigan undergraduate and graduate students for grants ranging from $500 to $1500 towards summer research or internships. The grants are intended to promote the study of Europe and European integration. 

U-M undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for the University of Windsor European Union Study Abroad Program, (May, 2012) Leuven and Brussels, Belgium, and may receive funding for this program by applying for CES-EUC Summer Research and Internship Grants. Sessions will be held from 12:00-1:00pm.  Laptops are welcome and encouraged. Description: The purpose of the Fulbright Program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other countries.  The U.S. Department of Statemakes Fulbright fellowships available to approximately 1,700 U.S. students annually to study, conduct research, teach English, or train in the creative arts in more than 135 countries worldwide.  The competition is administered at U-M through the International Institute. At the information session, a U-M Fulbright Program Advisor will describe the application and selection process and provide suggestions for making your application more competitive.   Eligibility Criteria: To apply for this program through U-M, applicants must (a) be U-M students, alumni or staff; (b) be U.S. citizens; (c) have completed an undergraduate degree by the beginning of the award; and (d) demonstrate the language skills necessary to complete the proposed project. Program Announcement
 The Center for Japanese Studies is pleased to announce a new scholarship program to support undergraduate students who will participate in a study abroad program to Japan. Applications for CJS Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarships for undergraduate students participating in a study abroad program to Japan during Spring-Summer 2012 and Academic Year 2012-13 are now available. Applications are due March 15, 2012.


Eligibility
· Currently enrolled undergraduate students at the University of Michigan in any school or college are eligible.

· Students graduating in May 2012 or August 2012 are not eligible.

· Recipients must participate in a study abroad academic program that is sponsored by CGIS or another school or college of the University of Michigan and that results in academic credit. The recipient must travel to Japan with the program during Spring-Summer 2012, Fall 2012, and/or Winter 2013. Students who are enrolled in CGIS GCC or GIEU course during Winter 2012 and will be traveling to Japan with the course immediately after the end of the term are also eligible.

· Students who enroll in a qualified summer intensive Japanese language program located in Japan during Summer 2012 are also eligible. In order to qualify, a summer language program must teach the equivalent of one academic year of Japanese as taught at the University of Michigan; the recipient must enroll at the 2nd year level or above.

· Independent research, internships, and volunteer activities are not eligible.

· Students who are awarded the Summer Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship in Japanese are not eligible.

Scholarship Award
· Approximately 5-7 awards of up to $1,500 each will be made.

· Scholarship funds may only be used to cover expenses associated with the study abroad program participation, such as tuition, program fee, airfare, room, and board.

· Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic merit by the Center for Japanese Studies Admissions and Fellowships Committee.

· If you receive a need-based financial aid package for the study abroad program, the acceptance of this scholarship may result in an adjustment of your need-based financial aid package. Please consult the Office of Financial Aid if you have any questions.
